Writing for Publication

Wow! Imagine that… I am now a “published author”. The writing experience was fun. After so many years of school and being “assigned” my topic, I really enjoyed getting to pick the topic. However, then I had a problem settling down to just one topic. The more I researched one area, the more information I found that sounded interesting about another area. Finally, I just had to close my eyes and pick one.

Then I had to choose from the plethora of sites on which to publish. First, I looked here, then there, then back over here. I didn’t realize this assignment would entail so many choices. Once I finally settled on a publishing site (GoArticles.com), I began the process of uploading my article. That was a bit of a challenge, but it wasn’t anything with which my teenager wasn’t able to help me. (It’s been a few years since my html class, and writing tags correctly is not my forte.) You can read my article at http://www.goarticles.com/cgi-bin/showa.cgi?C=868914.

Well, I’ve made all my decisions, I’ve written the article, and now I’ve published it. Before I began this program, I never would have even considered the idea of publishing something I had written. Now I have actually done it! I don’t know about the rest of you, but I feel rather accomplished.

Hi Heidi:

I just read your article. You are so right. Some medical professionals will tell you that doing something you like, no matter what it is, even for a short period of time, will lower the stress level in the average person. So, here's to breaks. I hope someone will tell my boss.

Hey Heidi,

After reading your article, I'm surprised you haven't written and published stuff before you are a good writer. Good thing you have someone who lives with you that can help you with some of the technology things that can be a bit tricky for some. As you know, eliminating stress is something that is important to me. As your article mentioned, we are overloaded with more and more stuff. Sadly, many people don't do anything to deal with their stress. As your article mentioned, taking a short 10-minute break to do something you enjoy can make a big difference.

The foundation of my Virtual Business is based on the concept of less stress equals more success. A good example of a big business taking advantage of the less stress more success concept is Google. They have gone to great length to insure that the working environment is very laid back, and as you can see, it has worked.

Heidi: I “just took a break” and read your article and wanted you to know you’re absolutely right on. Taking little 10 minute breaks throughout the day relaxes as well as energizes. You wrote a great article and I think you’ve found your new niche.
